WiMax in four more zones in Nepal

The much talked WiMax, a wireless broadband internet service is extended in three more zones - Lumbini, Gandaki and Dhaulagiri. The service is made available from sunday in these zones. WiMax, a type of fourth generation (4G) communications is already available in Kavrepalanchowk, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Chitwan and Makwanpur.
Nepal Telecom, which has the authority to distribute the service plans to expand this service throughout the country with the aim of getting 200,000 subscribers till the end of this year i.e 2013. The company has made available of the service to hospitals, NGOs, INGOs, banks, colleges, hotels, companies and business houses. You can enjoy WiMax in Bhairahawa, Butwal, Palpa and Pokhara. Soon this service will be available for common people.

Nepal Telecom is providing this service on the basis of three volume based packages on today's date - 32 GB, 48GB and 60GB a month. The price has been fixed Rs. 2,900 for 32GB a month. Similarly, you have to pay Rs. 4,300 and Rs. 5,190 for 48GB and 60GB packages, respectively. Customers will get the customer premise equipment (CPE) of price Rs. 11,670 or Rs. 16,910 for free if made advance payment by subscribing WiMax service for a year depending on the size of package. To get access to WiMax, customers must have to get CPE so I think subscribing for a year is better. But the only thing I disliked is limited data package. I hope someday we will get a chance of enjoying unlimited WiMax in Nepal.
